Derby County’s play-off ambitions are slipping away, with the Rams really struggling for form in the Sky Bet Championship.

Gary Rowett’s side were in a great position in early 2018, with automatic promotion the Rams’ aim.

However, a miserable run of form has seen Derby slide out of contention, with Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Burton Albion meaning Rowett’s side slipped out of the top-six and into the chasing pack.

There are still four fixtures for Derby to put their promotion push back on track in the coming weeks, but there is little doubt that the nerves are clearly getting to Rowett’s experienced squad.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, Derby’s squad needs a makeover, with Rowett sure to be active in the transfer window in the summer.

Here at FLW, we take a look at what Derby’s squad needs, identifying THREE players we believe they should be breaking the bank to sign…

Left-back has proved to be a problem position for Derby on occasion this season, and Bryan could solve a lot of problems in that area next season.

The Bristol City defender has been superb this season and would be the perfect fit at Pride Park.

It would take a big fee to lure Bryan away from Ashton Gate, but Derby should be willing to pay it.

Hanley has had an impressive year for Norwich City across the Championship, really impressing in central defence.

Richard Keogh has struggled at times for Derby this season, and Rowett might have his eye on replacing his club captain in the summer.

Hanley could be perfect alongside Curtis Davies.

Winnall enjoyed a successful loan spell with Derby this season, before a cruel injury ended a good run of form.

In the summer, the Sheffield Wednesday forward should be back on Rowett’s radar.

Derby and Winnall seemed a good fit, and his return next year would be a big boost.
