Preston North End are set to confirm 'one, if not two' new signings in the coming days, according to the Lancashire Post.

Frankie McAvoy's side are looking to complete their transfer business early on as they look to get off to the best possible start ahead of the new Championship season.

Reports from the Lancashire Post revealed last week that the club were closing in on three summer deals for Daniel Iversen, Sepp van den Berg and Liam Lindsay - all of whom spent time on loan with the club last season.

Stoke City defender Lindsay could be set to join the club on a permanent basis, while van den Berg and Iverson are being lined up for new loan deals from Liverpool and Leicester City respectively.

The fresh reports claim that Preston could complete the deals for Sepp van den Berg and Liam Lindsay later this week with deals said to be close, however a move for Daniel Iversen 'might take a little longer.

The verdict

Preston North End supporters will be delighted if they can get early deals signed off for Sepp van den Berg and Liam Lindsay.

The duo were very impressive during their loan spells and Deepdale and that is evident by the fact that the Lilywhites are keen to bring them straight back for the new season.

There's plenty of work for Frankie McAvoy to do if he's looking to move the club up the table next term but new deals like these are bound to help.

If they can then move on to complete a deal for Daniel Iversen then I think that they'll be off to an excellent start to their summer business.
