Out-of-contract Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan is reportedly yet to inform the Blades whether he will be signing a new deal at Bramall Lane amid interest from Fulham, Swansea City, and West Bromwich Albion.

United are preparing for life back in the Championship after they were relegated from the Premier League last season and Bryan's future is one issue that remains unresolved.

The 24-year-old's contract ran out at the end of June but, according to Yorkshire Live, he has been offered new terms by the Yorkshire club.

It is understood that he has neither signed nor rejected the deal tabled by the Blades but for the time being is a free agent and no longer training with the Bramall Lane outfit.

The 2020/21 campaign was a breakthrough season for Bryan, who stepped up into the starting XI after a string of injuries and became a regular fixture in the second half of the season.

The defender does appear to have other options in the Championship, with Fulham, Swansea, and West Brom all linked with him.

The Verdict

This update indicates the door is still open for one of the Blades' Championship rivals to swoop for Bryan.

Landing the defender could prove a really smart move for the trio in pursuit, who would be adding quality to their squad while weakening a potential promotion rival.

Losing the 24-year-old would likely have been an agreeable outcome for United this time last year but his run in the side last season allowed him to prove his worth.

With George Baldock linked with a move to Celtic and Phil Jagielka departing, losing another central defender would leave Slavisa Jokanovic short at the position.
