Lewis Grabban won't feature for Nottingham Forest before the international break, with the striker set to miss the Reds' next two league games.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for Grabban, who is yet to find the back of the net in a total of eight appearances this term.

The 32-year-old - who scored 20 goals and was Forest's top goalscorer last season - was taken off in the 1-1 draw with Derby County a fortnight ago due to a hip problem.

That hip problem saw him miss the draw with Luton Town and the defeat to Middlesbrough, and Chris Hughton has now revealed how long Grabban will be out for.

Hughton has revealed that Grabban will miss tonight's clash with Coventry City, as well as this weekend's home fixture against Wycombe Wanderers.

Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live, he said: "We're looking very much at an assessment in the international break.

"It's to be determined how long he is out for. The assessment afterwards was that it will be weeks as opposed to days.

"I suppose it's about he reacts to the injury that determines how long he is out for. Is it a worry? We have to cope with it and you all always want your best players.

"Grabban, as we know, is one of our players over the last couple of seasons who has produced well for the club."

Grabban will be hoping to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible, and open his account for the season to help Forest climb up the Championship table.

The Verdict

This is bound to be really frustrating for Grabban.

It's frustrating enough that he is yet to find the net this season, especially after seeing Lyle Taylor get off the mark and impress, but he's now got to sit out for at least the next two games.

All he has to concentrate on is getting back to full fitness and get back to full match sharpness, so he can return from the break as fit and as strong as possible.
