An update has emerged on Nottingham Forest's pursuit of Kamil Grosicki, with the Reds still looking to complete a deal for the West Bromwich Albion man.

Forest made a late attempt to sign Grosicki towards the end of the transfer window, agreeing a deal to sign the winger on loan on Deadline Day.

The club believe that the relevant paperwork was submitted to the EFL before Friday's 5pm transfer deadline, however the authorities are continuing to investigate the situation, Chris Hughton has confirmed.

Reports from Polish media outlet Sport.PL now claim that it may take a few more days to resolve the situation, as a move to the City Ground hangs in the balance.

The player's lawyers, though, are confident that a deal will get done, however it remains to be seen whether the EFL allow the transfer to go through.

It is also said that Forest submitted the paperwork 21 seconds after 5pm, leaving the move in doubt.

Forest brought in Anthony Knockaert from Fulham on Deadline Day, with the Frenchman becoming the 14th signing of the summer, but they will be hopeful of getting a deal done for Grosicki.

The Verdict

It would be a blow for Forest not to complete a move for Grosicki - but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

They already have some top quality wide options in Alex Mighten, Joe Lolley, Luke Freeman and Knockaert, so they can cope without Grosicki coming in.

He's a quality player, though, so it would be a bonus if a move were to materialise.
