Fresh digs have emerged as the ongoing dispute between Charlton Athletic's majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer and former chairman Matt Southall.

The ugly boardroom dispute between the pair began earlier this year and has been played out over social media for the past few months.

Both men have exchanged accusations over the running of the club the finances involved since East Street Investments, the consortium of which Nimer is the majority shareholder, completed their takeover of Charlton in January.

That takeover, along with Southall and Nimer, is now being investigated by the EFL over potential misconduct.

It appears the EFL investigation has done little to halt the dispute between the two men as a fresh update on the situation has emerged via Louis Mendez on Twitter.

Most of Nimer's communications during the dispute have been via his Instagram and he posted once again yesterday to confirm that he has asked the police to intervene and recover the two club Range Rovers currently in the possession of Southall and his partner.

Southall took to Twitter to respond, requesting that his former colleague reply to his email that proposed resolving the situation "without the outside influence of any third parties" and finding an amicable solution that is in the best interest of the South London club.

The Verdict

It appears the dispute between Southall and Nimer continues to roll on, as both aim fresh digs at one and other and try to claim the upper hand.

Given what has happened over the past few months it is difficult to see either's recent update as anything more than just an attempt to better their position.

You have to feel for Charlton fans, who have had a rough time of it in terms of the off the field issues over the past few years.

They will surely be very tired of this ongoing dispute.
