Trabzonspor want Stoke City to reduce their demands for midfielder Badou N'Diaye if they are to complete a deal for the 29-year-old, according to Turkish media outlet Fanatik.

The midfielder has recently been linked with move back to Turkey, despite emerging as a key player for Stoke this season.

The 29-year-old signed for the Potters from Galatasaray in January 2018, but he spent the entirety of last season back on loan with Gala after being unable to help Stoke avoid relegation from the Premier League.

But the defensive midfielder was brought in from the cold and was given a chance to impress Nathan Jones in September, and he's been an important player ever since.

N'Diaye has made a total of 11 appearances for the Potters this season, but is yet to start under Michael O'Neill and could well be on his way out of Stoke in January.

Fanatik claim that Trabzonspor want to sign N'Diaye on loan, but they want Stoke as well as the player to reduce their demands. It is claimed that Stoke want a loan fee of €1m for the 29-year-old, and the player himself wants a €1.5m salary for the six months.

After a 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic at the weekend, Stoke sit level on points with 21st spot and sit just inside the relegation zone on goal difference.

The Verdict

I am quite surprised to see that Stoke are willing to let N'Diaye leave, especially on loan.

He has been one of their better players this season, producing a string of full-blooded, committed performances in the middle of the park.

I think even O'Neill knows that his time at Stoke is coming to an end, though, as he's reintroduced Ryan Woods to the starting line-up since he's come in and took over from Jones.
