Valenciennes Striker Andy Faustin is set to join Ipswich on trial with a view to a permanent move, reports TWTD.
Faustin, 18, has been invited by the Tractor Boys to train with them next week on trial, according to French Newspaper L’Equipe, as Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy looks to add more players to his squad for the upcoming season.
The youngster played six times last season for Valenciennes second team failing to score in all of them but is said to have a lot of potential, and could be available for around the £70k mark.
Mick McCarthy’s side had a strong run last season at the play-offs but ran out of steam towards the end of the season and as a result they were beaten by near-rivals Norwich in the play-off semi final.
Although with his inexperience and age he will likely be with the youth setup initially but if he impresses with them there is no reason to say he could not play a part in the first team next season.
