"My time at Rotherham has come to an end, it’s been filled with highs and lows." wrote the 29-year-old on Instagram.

"I would like to say a massive thank you to the fans, players and staff.

"2 promotions, EFL trophy, I can only look back at my time with great fondness ❤️."

Ladapo made 31 appearances in League One for the Millers in 2021/22, scoring 11 goals and assisting three times in those matches.

In all competitions, the forward added a further four goals in ten club appearances.

His move to Ipswich comes as no great surprise given that he handed in a transfer request during the January transfer window.

The Verdict

It seemed inevitable that Freddie Ladapo would leave Rotherham United this summer.

It's always hard to come back from something like handing in a transfer request and perhaps it is best for both parties that a change has occured this summer.

Ipswich Town will surely be happy to secure Ladapo's signature, too.

No doubt there was plenty of interest in securing his signature given he was available on a free, and it will be exciting to see how he gets on at Portman Road next campaign.
