Freddie Ladapo has sent a message to Rotherham United fans on social media, after the striker completed his move from Plymouth Argyle.

The 26-year-old has joined the Millers on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed club-record fee, after a hugely impressive season with Plymouth.

The striker scored 19 goals in 49 appearances for Plymouth in all competitions last season, although he could not save them from relegation from League One.

After his club-record move was confirmed, Ladapo posted this photo on his personal

The striker also admitted that Rotherham manager Paul Warne and his assistant Richie Barker persuaded him to move to the New York Stadium, even though there were Championship and other League One clubs interested in him.

Sunderland were one of the clubs reportedly interested in Ladapo, with Jack Ross looking to boost his attacking options after his side just missed out on promotion to the Championship last season.

The Verdict

This is a fantastic signing for Rotherham. Ladapo was outstanding for Plymouth in League One last season and deserves a chance to play for one of the top teams in the division.

Rotherham will be hoping to challenge for promotion to the Championship next season and Ladapo is an excellent addition to their squad.

He scored 18 league goals for Plymouth last season and has plenty of experience in League One.

It is a major blow for Plymouth to lose a player of his quality, but they were always going to struggle to keep hold of him after their relegation.
