In a remarkable match between Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest last night, there were plenty of heroes.
The sides shared a 5-5 draw, the sort of freak result that happens once in a lifetime. It was a hugely entertaining spectacle, with fans from both sides thoroughly entertained, if not entirely satisfied by the final result.
With such a performance there are bound to be heroes and villains, a side does not concede five at home without someone being held accountable. In the case of Aston Villa, the blame seems to be falling on Norwegian keeper Orjan Nyland.
He’s had a rough time in his short career at Villa Park, enduring the latter stages of Bruce’s career but also enjoying the resurgence under Dean Smith. He’s the number one there, for now, but outings like last night will only serve to highlight the need for a better back up.
Or a replacement.
If these Aston Villa fans are to be listened too, the 28-year old could well be on his way in the January transfer window.
????????♂️ 4h goal nyland gets caught out. Not a mistake. Player peeling off expecting the through ball that’s the way nyland originally is moving towards. Caught out when he shoots. But why’s he shooting from 3 miles out?? Because horrorhane doesn’t close him and just watches him #avfc

Reassessing the game this morning even at 46 yrs old I can still play for Aston Villa …….in goal.
Nyland never made a single save
I can match that !!!!

Nyland has to go doesn’t he. Last night we could’ve actually played with no goalkeeper whatsoever and had the same result, they had 5 shots on target #avfc

Hourihane was really poor and was all over the shop. Except his ability to score a few goals, he doesn't bring much. Doesnt help the case of Nyland though. He is the worst GK I've seen at Villa… By some distance. #avfc

Any #avfc fans recovered yet? What a game. My patience with nyland ran out last night. I was hoping for improvement off him by now. Forest fans were the loudest I’ve seen at VP this season

Good to finally be involved in games like this but we should be beating ten men forest at home and we need a goalkeeper bad bcuz Nyland is a fraud he barely makes little effort to stop anything #avfc

This was a much better result for Forest than us. Nyland has been very poor so far and just emphasises how important Johnstone was last season. Back four needs urgent additions in January. Still, Abraham was on another level and we look great offensively. #AVFC
