Brentford manager Thomas Frank has insisted that he ‘wouldn’t swap his front-three for anyone’, after a 3-1 victory over West London rivals QPR in the Championship last night.

Ollie Watkins headed Brentford in-front midway through the first-half, with Grant Hall levelling things for QPR after the restart.

Said Benrahma converted a controversially-awarded penalty to put Brentford 2-1 ahead in the second-half, and Watkins added a third in injury time to seal the win in W12.

Speaking after the game, Frank said:

“The front three work so hard together, off the ball and on the ball.

“It’s fantastic that Ollie scored two goals, but it cannot be only him scoring, so it’s very good that in the last two games Said has been opening his account and Bryan is also adding to that – what a beautiful assist for the first goal by the way.”

Watkins took his Championship tally to ten last night, making him the league’s second top-scorer behind Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Benrahma also got his second goal in as many matches, kick-starting his season after a slow start for the Algerian international.

“I don’t think I want to change them with the players of any other club – I’m very, very satisfied with the three players,” said Frank.

“The relations between them is getting better and better. Ollie is doing fantastic, Said will still grow because he’s still coming into top fitness and Bryan is doing well but there’s a lot more to come from him.”

Mbeumo joined the club in the summer from Ligue 2 side Troyes, and he too has come to fruition in recent weeks having scored against Millwall and Swansea last week.

"I can only praise him for his work ethic,” Frank added. “Look how hard he works throughout the game, that’s a massive big thing for us.

“And then we’ve been working very hard with him to stay on the last line, and the first goal is a very clear example of that, where we want him in-between the two centre backs.”

The verdict

Brentford have a front-three to behold in Watkins, Benrahma and Mbeumo.

Watkins is the pick of the bunch and for much of beginning of the campaign, he was very much carrying this Brentford side.

But some of the pressure on him has been relieved with the recent goal-scoring forms of Benrahma and Mbeumo, and the trio are making for devastating attacks - as seen at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium last night.

The Bees now sit 12th in the Championship on the back of a three-game winning streak, and look to be readying a breach of the top-six under Frank.
