Derby County head coach Frank Lampard has claimed the Rams may still dip into the loan transfer market prior to its closure at the end of this month.

According to Derbyshire Live, there could still be new arrivals and departures from Pride Park this summer, with the 40-year-old hinting towards possible new additions before the window shuts.

Lampard stated: “We've got to look at outs as much as ins at the moment, so that's probably our priority in terms of the squad.

"I think we've got very good players in our squad, and I think we can play very well if the squad stays as it is.

"So it's not a massive priority to keep looking at that."

With the arrival of nine new signings throughout this summer’s transfer window, it may not be surprising to hear the Rams boss suggest outbound loans may be called for.

With the likes of Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori and Harry Wilson from Liverpool already amongst the squad on loan, Lampard clearly is not shy in the transfer market.

The Verdict

With an already relatively large squad to choose from, outbound loan transfers could be on the cards more so than inbound at Pride Park.

Frank Lampard, who alluded to potential deals still this summer, has not been shy in what is his first season as a first team coach at any level.

Derby County have started relatively well so fat this campaign, but perhaps a few more arrivals could make them into promotion contenders.
