Frank Lampard has confirmed that he's had no word from Liverpool about the future of loan winger Harry Wilson, sparking hopes he could remain at the club through until the end of the season.

Wilson has been in sensational form for the Rams as they launch yet another assault on a play-off place.

They're seemingly involved at the top every season, always just falling short.

Under the former Chelsea midfielder, Derby have looked exciting with the 21-year old growing in stature with every game.

He's looking likely to be at Pride Park for the long haul, as the manager revealed.

"I have heard nothing from Liverpool, which is good news - no news is good news," Lampard told Derbyshire Live. "I hope he stays with us because I think it (the loan) has been good for all parties, so far."

"In terms of his individual performance, 10 goals is a great return, and his spectacular goals have been great on the eye but my biggest pleasure is seeing his performances in the past month."

Wilson has previously spent time with Crewe and Hull City, but this season he's matured into an exciting talent. He's scored ten goals from 24 outings, with nine of those strikes coming in Championship action.

That has helped the Rams to sixth in the table, four points clear of rivals Nottingham Forest.

The Verdict

Often, no news really is the best news in the transfer window. Wilson would be a big loss to Derby and whilst the likes of Villa fret over losing their Premier League loan star, Derby don't have too.

He could well end up being on of the driving factors behind a Rams return to the top flight. He's got a big future in the game, most likely back at Anfield.
