Brentford manager Thomas Frank has praised the support for his side, as the Bees beat Queens Park Rangers 3-1 in the Championship last night.

It was a night to remember in W12 for Brentford and Thomas Frank.

Ollie Watkins gave the Bees a 1-0 lead going into half-time, heading home midway through the first-half.

Grant Hall levelled things for the home side after the restart, before Said Benrahma converted from the spot to restore Brentford’s lead.

Watkins scored his second and Brentford’s third in injury time to put the game to bed, and leave Brentford with the West London bragging rights.

Speaking after the game, Frank said:

“It’s such a good feeling to give this back to the fans. The support down there tonight was absolutely 100% throughout the game. It means so much to us that they travelled in great numbers.

“I don’t think we could have written the game better with the third goal and the celebration down there with the fans. Football is about emotions and ups and downs, and tonight was definitely one of the ups.”

It was Brentford’s third consecutive win in the Championship, and it boosts them into 12th in the Championship after Round 14.

QPR though missed the chance to go second last night and instead stay 8th - one point off Bristol City in 6th.

Only two points separate the West London clubs, in what remains an ever-tight top-half in the Championship.

The verdict

Thomas Frank has turned his fortunes around this season, and a convincing win at the home of Brentford’s West London rivals will earn him plenty of fans at Griffin Park.

After a dismal start to the season, Brentford really look like they kicking on having beaten Swansea 3-0 last time out, and now another win over a top side in the Championship.

His front-three are firing on all cylinders and if his side’s form continues throughout the season, the Bees could mount an unprecedented play-off push.
