Fraizer Campbell issues message to Huddersfield fans after sealing switch

Published

on

Fraizer Campbell has completed his move to Huddersfield Town on a free transfer, the club has confirmed.

The 31-year-0ld has signed a two-year contract with his hometown club, while the Terriers also hold the option for a further year’s extension to the terms.

Campbell arrives at the John Smith’s Stadium after scoring 12 goals for Hull City last season, but he then failed to agree a new deal at the club which led to him becoming a free agent.

Jan Siewart’s side have now snapped up the former Manchester United striker, who has recorded over 350 appearances since making his senior debut back in 2006.

Championship Picks

The forward has now taken to Instagram after his switch was announced at Monday lunchtime:

Campbell said he was looking forward to his fresh start with the Terriers, and claimed he “cannot wait” to get started at his hometown club.

The verdict

This has all the ingredients to be a top move for both parties, as Campbell will provide an experienced option up front for the Terriers while he is also now able to return to his hometown.

He scored 12 goals and registered six assists for Hull last term which shows he is capable of making a strong contribution at this level, so Huddersfield have done well to secure his services.

Campbell’s Instagram message also shows he is clearly excited to make his return to West Yorkshire, and the fans will surely take to him with ease given his upbringing in the area.

This is a very decent signing for Huddersfield and I’m sure Campbell will provide some good support for Terriers striker Karlan Grant this season.
