Sunderland recorded a potentially crucial 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town at the Stadium Of Light.

That result sees them leapfrop the Tractorboys and move back into the play-off places.

It was the visitors who had the better of the first period as Phil Parkinson's side struggled to get a hold of the game.

However in the second period we saw the hosts really dominate.

Chances from Denver Hume, Lynden Gooch and Bailey Wright saw the hosts go close but it was Chris Maguire who got the decisive goal in the 80th minute.

The 31-year-old has attracted plenty of attention for his display at the Stadium Of Light, but how good was the forward against Ipswich Town?

We took to Wyscout to find out.

It was quite a night for Chris Maguire.

The 31-year-old was undoubtedly the best player on the pitch for the clash with Ipswich Town and this was represented in his numbers.

Maguire played 96 minutes against the Tractorboys and despite a flat first half, he certainly showed his quality as the game progressed.

In that time the tireless forward completed three successful dribbles, while also achieving five successful long passes as he consistently looked to feed Charlie Wyke in the attacking third.

Can you name every Sunderland player's shirt number this season?

But he didn't just play provider at the Stadium Of Light.

Maguire recorded four shots on goal during the 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, which included his stunning effort from 25 yards which fizzed into the bottom corner to secure the Black Cats all three points.

The Scotland international was certainly the best player on the pitch on Saturday and the hope will surely be that he can maintain this form to help Sunderland in achieving their ambitions of securing promotion.
