According to the official Morecambe FC website, all four players have signed two year deals at the club. Beeley, Devitt and Edwards have all been major targets for manager Jim Bentley since impressing on loan at the club at the end of last season, whilst McGowan has been promoted from the youth system.

Bentley has said that the players chose Morecambe over other football league clubs, which he says is testament to the set-up at the Globe Arena and the ambition the club has for the forthcoming season.

When talking about his four new signings, manager Bentley had nothing but praise for them. He describes Beeley as one of the best right-backs in the division, says Devitt has the ability to offer that extra bit of quality and thinks Edwards has pedigree and bags of potential.

As for McGowan, the fact that he has been offered a professional contract shows the club think he has potential and that he can be in and around the first team next season. “He may only be 17 but he is a good player who is fearless. He has already been in and around the first team and made a couple of appearances and we all feel he will get better and better over the next two years” says Bentley.

The club’s summer recruitment is still ongoing though with some positions that require strengthening. Talks are ongoing with several more players.
