There’s a Premier League return to prepare for at Leeds United this summer.

Leeds stormed to the Championship title last month, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side 10 points ahead of West Bromwich Albion and the chasing-pack.

Celebrations are coming to an end now and focus is on the top-flight, as Leeds look to hit the ground running when they return in the next five weeks.

Transfers into the club will be on the agenda, but there’s also the need for Leeds to move a couple of faces out.

Ryan Edmondson has moved out of Leeds and joined Aberdeen on loan, whilst there’s certainly scope for more youngsters to move out.

Then, there’s complex situation surrounding some senior players.

With that in mind, we assess a few players who could be on their way out of Elland Road in the coming weeks..

The Spanish goalkeeper was, statistically, one of the best in the Championship during the 2019/20 season.

However, a racism charge against him and an eight-match suspension puts the Spaniard in a difficult position this summer and many expect to see him moved out of Elland Road.

Illan Meslier finished the season as first choice and has been signed permanently, with there every chance Leeds will look for another goalkeeper to come in and replace Casilla.

A report from the Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed that Leeds are looking to hand McCalmont a new deal at Elland Road before sending him out on loan.

The midfielder, who is also a Northern Ireland international, struggled for game time in the Championship and that’s going to continue in the Premier League.

A 46-game season on loan in the Championship will do him the world of good.

Like McCalmont, Gotts is a promising young midfielder on the books at Elland Road.

After two appearances in 2019/20, his game time will surely shrink again in the Premier League, which heightens the likelihood of an exit this summer.

He’s been linked with a move to Huddersfield on loan, where he would, of course, reunite with former Leeds under-23 coach, Carlos Corberan.

Remember him?

The 27-year-old remains on the books at Elland Road, but is yet to make a first-team appearance despite being associated with the club since 2017.

He doesn’t train and is never going to feature under Marcelo Bielsa.

Surely his exit will be announced ahead of the Premier League season.
