Championship duo Queens Park Rangers and Fulham are both reportedly tracking the services of young Everton left back Luke Garbutt, according to WestLondonSport.com.
Similar reports in The Times online are also stating that another Championship duo, Ipswich Town and Rotherham United, are also interested in the 22-year-old defender.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirmed in one of his news conferences that the young full back would be allowed to leave on loan this season with chances limited due to Leighton Baines being the mainstay left back in the Toffees team.
Despite interest from two Premier League sides, reported to be Swansea City and recently promoted Bournemouth, former Wigan Athletic boss Martinez has confirmed that he would prefer Garbutt to go to a Championship club in the hope that he will get more playing time.
Should a loan move happen for the young defender, it would most likely be for the season which would be beneficial for both clubs and the player as the more games he gets, the more experienced he becomes. It is hoped that Garbutt will become the long-term replacement for Baines should he move on in the future.
