Leeds United have struggled upfront this season, with summer signings including Pawel Cibicki and Jay-Roy Grot failing to have a significant impact on the squad.

Christiansen signed no less than four new forwards following the departure of the talismanic Chris Wood, with each failing to live up to the lofty expectations the Kiwi set during his time at Elland Road.

Failures may force Christiansen into the market in January to add another option to his squad, but many will question the need to spend big, when the club already possess a prolific man on their books.

Swedish forward Marcus Antonsson is scoring for fun with Blackburn Rovers in League One, and Leeds have an option to recall the player from his loan spell in the new year.

However, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has suggested on Twitter that Leeds are happy to allow the Swede to see out the season at Ewood Park, despite their need for a goalscorer.

Fans have taken to the social media site to have their say on their club’s interesting stance…
