Stoke City have fallen into a real rut over the Christmas period and the pressure is seriously beginning to mount on manager Gary Rowett.

Three wins in five had put the club in with a good chance of breaking into the top-six but they have since fallen victim to the busy festive fixture list.

Losses to Birmingham City and Bristol City and a disappointing draw with struggling Bolton Wanderers put them far behind in the top-six race.

Now, it appears the Potters' board are also beginning to lose faith in the former Birmingham City and Derby County boss as a report from the Mirror revealed they were drawing up a list of replacements.

It showed that David Moyes and Sam Allardyce were high on the list with the board believing that either could still mount a promotion challenge in 2019.

It is news that has divided the fan base, with many happy to see Rowett close to the sack but others concerned by the potential replacements.
