It's safe to say it's not been the ideal start to life in League Two this season for Bolton Wanderers, who continue to slide down the Football League.

The Trotters were relegated from League One last season, and are currently sat 20th in the fourth-tier standings after their opening 11 matches of this year's campaign.

Ian Evatt's side have only won once in their last nine matches, with the Trotters being winless in their three matches.

It doesn't get any easier for the Trotters either, as they prepare to take on Salford City at the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday evening.

The Ammies have made a positive start in their quest to win promotion into League One this season, as they currently sit tenth in the table.

Bolton could be without some key players for the visit of Richie Wellens' side as well, with Ian Evatt issuing a slightly concerning injury update in a recent press conference ahead of the match.

The Bolton boss revealed that Antoni Sarcevic has been struggling for fitness heading into the match, and is rated at 50-50 to feature against Salford City.

"Antoni Sarcevic has been struggling with a back injury and is 50-50 at the moment."

Evatt went on to issue an update on Eoin Doyle and Gethin Grant, with both players likely to miss the match after suffering setbacks in training.

"Eoin Doyle and Gethin Jones have trained all week, but have had slight setbacks and I don’t think they’ll be ready to play tomorrow."

A win would see Bolton move up to 15th in the fourth-tier, although a defeat could see the relegation-threatened teams around them close the gap on the Trotters.
