Aston Villa are a side with hopes of promotion in 2019, with the club on the rise under Dean Smith.

It was a poor start to the season under Steve Bruce, but Smith’s arrival has sparked an under-performing squad into life and the play-offs look like a real possibility if they can maintain this level of form.

Of course, we’ve seen an upturn in results under Smith, but the squad he’s inherited needs work and there will be arrivals in the coming month.

Lovre Kalinic is already a done deal and, whilst focus will be on new arrivals, there’s sure to be departures.

Some of those may be on loan and some may be permanent, although it’s a lot harder to do the latter in the winter window.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the players we imagine will be heading out on loan in the coming weeks…

We’ve seen a complete reshuffle of goalkeepers at Villa in recent days and it leaves Bunn cast aside.

Kalinic will be first choice whilst Jed Steer looks like he might provide the cover.

A loan move for Bunn is surely on the horizon.

Hepburn-Murphy is highly rated at Villa Park but he needs to start developing.

For us, a loan move is a necessity. He isn’t good enough to lead the line in the Championship but he’s too good to rot in the 23s.

A lower league move is surely on the cards for the forward.

Villa’s use of O’Hare is getting ridiculous now - the lad needs regular football.

He’s the next Jack Grealish, but his chance is never going to come with Grealish, John McGinn and Conor Hourihane around.

Smith needs to let him loose elsewhere so he can show his club how good he actually is.
