Wolves take on Aston Villa in a huge Championship encounter at Molineux tomorrow and one former player who knows both sides well reckons it's too close to call.

Tony Daley played over 200 times for Aston Villa before leaving to join Wolves where he stayed for four injury-hit years.

However, the England international would go on to be fitness coach for the Black Country club where he remained until last season.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Daley revealed he doesn't know how it will play out.

It's a hard one to call. They're two teams in form. Villa made a bad start but are unbeaten in eight games now and won their last four. They're in awesome form. Wolves are flying high, second in the league.”

Both have spent a lot of money so there's a lot of expectation at both clubs as well.”

Steve Bruce will be looking to become the first Villa manager since John Gregory to win five successive league games in a row, whereas Wolves could finish the weekend top of the pile if they better Cardiff City's result.

The Verdict

This game couldn't come at a better time as it looks to have much more importance than just three points.

For Villa, it's a major test after a series of winnable fixtures and will be a chance to see if they have really turned the corner. Similarly, Wolves have already lost to Cardiff and Sheffield United, so another defeat against a top team would raise questions about their sustainability.

Those factors, combined with the expectation that comes with two big club's that Daley mentioned means it should be a cracker at Molineux tomorrow evening.
