Diego Poyet, son of former Sunderland manager and Chelsea legend Gus Poyet, is currently subject to interest from a host of Sky Bet Championship clubs following his release from West Ham earlier in the week, according to The Mirror.
The 21-year-old midfielder had his contract terminated on deadline day by the London club after two years and only a handful of appearances for the Hammers, and is now available on a free transfer.
Several Championship clubs are interested in bringing in the youngster, who came through the youth ranks at League One side Charlton Athletic before joining London rivals West Ham.
His versatility, which allows him to play as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder or even a centre back, has proven a very attractive proposition to several clubs.
With more money floating around in English football’s second tier than ever, Poyet’s final decision could be made on a financial basis.
Don’t be surprised if the youngster finds a club within the next couple of days.
