Former Birmingham City, Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic midfielder Wilson Palacios has joined Hull City for a two week trial, according to reports in the Hull Daily Mail online.
The Hondurian international is currently with the Tigers on their tour of Portugal and looks set to feature for Steve Bruce’s side on Friday as they take on North Ferriby United.
After he was released at the end of last season by Premier League side Stoke City, Palacios is looking to link up with Bruce, who he worked under at both Birmingham and Wigan.
It is understood that Bruce is a known admirer of the 30-year-old, but he is aware of his ongoing injury problems that has limited his playing time in the past few seasons.
Should Palacios impress during his two weeks with the club, he could become Hull’s first signing of the summer.
In 2009, Bruce let Palacios join Tottenham in a deal worth £12 million. During that season, the former Manchester United defender had described the midfielder as one of the best in the country at the time and the offer was just too good for the Latics to turn down.
