QPR defender Angel Rangel has taken a scathing shot at former club Swansea's American owners on Instagram, after Rangers' 4-0 battering of the Welsh club on Saturday.

Rangel played 88 minutes of the victory, as a double from Tomer Hemed and strikes from Darnell Furlong and Massimo Luongo sealed an emphatic victory for Rangers, moving them eight points clear of the Championship relegation zone with four games of the season remaining.

Taking to Instagram after the game, Rangel didn't hold back against his old side, saying that while it was "always special to play" against his old club, the 4-0 scoreline made it a "bit sweeter", concluding his post with the hashtag "yanksout" in reference to Swansea's American owners.

In 11 years at Swansea, Rangel made 374 appearances in all competitions for the club, before being released following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season following their relegation from the Premier League, with the Spaniard making just four league appearances in his final campaign at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea's owners have come under scrutiny in recent weeks after it was revealed that non first team staff at the club could lose their jobs as a result of the club's precarious financial situation following Premier League relegation.

The verdict

Ouch.

Rangel is a player who gave so much to Swansea during his time at the club, so the comments about a 4-0 victory over his old side being"sweeter" will be tough to take for Swansea fans.

That however can't trouble the Spaniard now. His priority has to be helping to keep QPR in the Championship, and Saturday's result went a long way to doing that.
