It will undoubtedly have not escaped Sunderland fans' notice that the latest 'Sunderland 'Til I Die' documentary on Netflix has been released with series 2 taking a look at their run to the play-off final in League One last season.

The Black Cats are one of the biggest clubs around and in League One they very much are a big fish but, as things stand, they're on course to miss out on promotion this season and will be eager for the campaign to resume to try and get back on track.

In the meantime, though, many are taking in the documentary on the Wearsiders and, among them, a former player in goalkeeper Robbin Ruiter:

The Verdict

Ruiter's time at the Stadium of Light never really worked out but fans will be pleased to see that he still has strong affection for the club.

It's testament to the size of the Black Cats that players, even at the club for a small period of time that ultimately didn't prove that successful, still have a place in their hearts for the men in red and white.

Fan will be pleased seeing this, then, and it looks as though they have a young fan in Ruiter's child.
