Former Reading and Dunfermline striker, Gozie Ugwu, has today signed for League One side Yeovil Town, the club have confirmed.
The 21-year-old was recently released by Dunfermline, despite scoring seven in 14 games, an average of exactly 0.5 goals per game. He has been without a club since Christmas after Dunfermline opted not to extend his contract.
Ugwu has penned a short-term deal until the end of the current season after his contract at Dunfermline Athletic expired just after Christmas.
Town fans will remember Ugwu after he spent time on loan at Huish Park in the 2012/13 season.
He made his Glovers debut in the 3-0 League Cup win against Colchester United before scoring twice in the 4-0 win away at Scunthorpe United
Ugwu returned to Reading in January 2013 after making 18 appearances for Town, scoring three goals.
Since his time at Huish Park, Ugwu has spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle and Shrewsbury Town, making a combined total of 13 appearances, scoring on one occasion. Ugwu has also previously had a loan spell at Ebbsfleet United, playing nine games and scoring fout times.
In May 2014 his contract at Reading expired and he signed a deal with Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic, before being released in December having made 14 appearances for the Scottish club.
Ugwu will wear shirt number 25 during his spell at Huish Park and it is hoped that he will be able to help Yeovil in their current campaign and extend his short term contract into a longer deal.
The Glovers currently sit rock bottom of Sky Bet League One, having accumulated 20 points from 24 league games.
