Simon Cox has warned that things could get worse for former club Reading with the way things are currently run at the club.

The Berkshire outfit have been on a downward spiral since they lost the 2017 play-off final to Huddersfield.

They just about managed to stay up last season, although Jaap Stam was sacked, whilst they are without a win so far this season under Paul Clement.

And, today they had a reshuffle in key positions at the club, with Technical Director, Brian Tevreden, leaving and Gianluca Nani replacing him as a Sporting Director.

Journalist Charles Watts commented on the situation, revealing he had heard Tevreden had fallen out with CEO, Ron Gourlay.

He also questioned the job Gourlay has done since joining the club, with attendances dropping and many long-serving figures having left.

That prompted Cox to respond and he echoed Watts' concerns with a passionate message that highlighted how things could get worse:

The Verdict

It's hard to disagree with what Cox says here as things have been going wrong for a long time at Reading now.

Owners up and down the country make bad decisions but the fact Reading seem to continue to make these mistakes is a very worrying trend.

Gourlay clearly has a lot to answer for and it looks as though it could be a very tough season ahead for the club.
