The deadline for the Italian's exclusivity for purchasing the Bantams ran out last Friday but he remains determined to push the deal through.

It is understood that the deal collapsed after one of the Paladini's major backers had pulled out.

“All is good re Bradford. I am extremely serious about the purchase of the club." said the Italian.

“I am just waiting for a few more issues (to be resolved) but I don’t see a problem.

“I know we’ve gone over the deadline but all is okay and I hope to finalise the deal very shortly.”

City's co-owners Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn has stressed that the door remains open on Paladini or any other potential suitors, and it is believed that some are monitoring the situation.

The club failed to obtain a play-off place in the Sky Bet League One season, but did manage a lengthy FA Cup run, losing out to Reading in the quarter-final of the competition.
