Slaven Bilic would be good appointment for West Bromwich Albion, according to former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison.

Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett revealed earlier today that Bilic is Albion's first choice to take over as the new head coach at the Hawthorns.

The former West Ham manager was interviewed for the role on Tuesday night and has impressed the club's decision-makers.

West Brom have been searching for a new manager since head coach Darren Moore was sacked in March, with the team nine points outside the automatic promotion places in the Championship.

First-team coach James Shan took caretaker charge of the club until the end of the season and was able to help cement their position in the top six, but the team would miss out on promotion, losing to Aston Villa on penalties in the play-off semi-finals.

Morrison was speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning and stated that Bilic would be a good appointment for West Brom.

The Verdict

In my opinion, it was the wrong decision for West Brom to sack Darren Moore in the first place and the board have to take responsibility for that.

They've got an opportunity to put things right now though and I think Bilic would be an excellent appointment for the Baggies.

He's an experienced manager and did a good job at West Ham a few seasons ago. He obliviously impressed West Brom in his interview and I think he could have what it takes to get them promoted next season.
