Former Middlesbrough midfielder Andy Halliday is due to join Mark Warburton’s Rangers on trial, according to the Daily Record.
Warburton continues his rebuilding process at Ibrox and has also taken former Manchester City and Doncaster Rovers defender Reece Wabara on trial.
Halliday, 23, was on the books at Rangers as a youngster but left to join Livingston before heading to Middlesbrough.
The midfielder finished last season at League One side Bradford City, but he was released by boss Phil Parkinson at the end of the campaign.
Wabara, also 23, quit Doncaster when his contract expired this summer despite the South Yorkshire club wanting to keep the former City man.
The defender, who was once captain of the City development squad, also had spells at Ipswich Town, Blackpool and Oldham Athletic before joining Rovers last summer.
Warbuton has moved quickly since being appointed Gers boss with Wigan Athletic defender Rob Kiernan and former Liverpool man Danny Wilson joining him at Ibrox.
