David Stockdale will not be arriving at Leeds United on an emergency loan, with the Birmingham City outcast set for a loan move to League One outfit, Wycombe Wanderers.

Leeds are desperately searching for a goalkeeper, having lost their first and second choice to injury in the last seven days.

Jamal Blackman’s fractured leg means that he has been forced to return to Chelsea, whilst Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has been ever-present this season, has picked up a problem in training, leaving Marcelo Bielsa without a senior goalkeeper for Saturday’s clash with Bristol City.

The Whites had been linked with a move for Stockdale in the summer, with the goalkeeper firmly down the pecking order under Garry Monk at St Andrew’s.

However, Phil Hay at the Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed that Stockdale will not be arriving at Elland Road, with the 33-year-old set to link up with Wycombe on loan.

Jonathan Bond is one man seemingly on Leeds’ radar as they look for a short-term fix, but it seems that either Will Huffer or Kamil Miazek will be drafted into Leeds’ starting XI for a debut when the Whites host Lee Johnson’s Bristol City on Saturday.

The Verdict

Stockdale would’ve been a good addition at Leeds, but he’s clearly not an option for the Whites in this desperate situation.

The top men at Elland Road need to be working tirelessly to get a loanee through the door, as losing both goalkeepers could potentially damage Bielsa’s side in their quest to secure promotion.
