Leeds United narrowly missed out on the chance to win promotion back into the Premier League, as they lost out to Derby in their play-off semi-final.

It has raised questions amongst the Elland Road faithful about Marcelo Bielsa's future at the club, with Leeds fans desperate for him to remain with the Yorkshire-based side.

In an interview with Football Insider, former Leeds defender, Danny Mills revealed that the Whites will have to pay another £4m to keep the Argentine at the club next season.

"I believe there is an option that Leeds must activate for Bielsa to stay for a second season and you’re looking at another £4million to keep him."

Mills is confident that talks between Leeds and Bielsa have already got underway, and is hopeful that the Leeds boss will remain in charge ahead of next year's campaign.

"There are discussions to be had and I believe they would have started yesterday. There are are a lot of questions to be answered. Can he do it again?

"Does he have the hunger and desire? Does he want to stay for another season? Do Leeds have the funds to help him add to the squad?

"I think it depends on Bielsa. If he wants to stay, then, great, keep him."

It's certainly going to be an interesting summer ahead at Elland Road, and supporters will be hoping that securing Bielsa's long-term future at the club is one of the top priorities.

The Verdict:

He's worth the money.

Bielsa has completely transformed the club from top to bottom and Leeds should be doing everything they can to keep him at the club for next season.

It shouldn't matter what he'd cost the club, as I think that he could take Leeds back into the Premier League.
