Former Leeds United striker

Marcelo Bielsa's side are currently second in the Championship table, five points clear of the play-off places with ten games of the season remaining, following their 4-0 win away at Hull City on Saturday afternoon.

After Luke Ayling's deflected effort gave the Whites an early lead, Pablo Hernandez doubled his side's advantage minutes into the second half, before a late brace from substitute Tyler Roberts put the seal on a big win for Bielsa's men, something which Becchio certainly seemed to enjoy.

Taking to his Instagram page to react to that win, Becchio posted an image of himself wearing a Leeds shirt and kissing the club's badge, accompanied by the caption "Only one love @leedsunited." Before adding the simple yet bullish claim "This is the year."

Next up for Leeds following that victory over Hull is another Yorkshire Derby, as another relegation-threatened side - Huddersfield Town - make the trip to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Verdict

It does certainly seem as though Becchio's prediction has a good chance of coming true.

Having now made it four straight wins, and taken such a convincing victory against Hull, it is hard to argue with the suggestion that Leeds are once again starting to find the sort of form that ought to secure them that promotion.

After making 221 appearances in all competitions for the club - scoring 86 goals - for Leeds between 2008 and 2013, it is no surprise that Becchio looks as though he is going to enjoy the club's promotion should they achieve it.

That is something that also ought to go down well with the club's fans, who are always going to appreciate the support of a former player who had been so popular during his playing days at Elland Road.
