The Carabao Cup first round draw was made on Thursday evening, and there's no doubting what the tie of the round was.

Leeds United were drawn against newly-promoted, Salford City in a mouth-watering tie for the first-round, which is certain to catch the eye.

The League Two side are owned by the Class of 92, and they will be hoping they can pull of one of the upsets of the first round at Moor Lane.

In an interview with Football Insider, former Leeds United defender Danny Mills has issued a sly dig at Salford, claiming that they were the same club as Manchester United.

"Salford City – is that not Manchester United? Is that not the same?

"I’m sure Old Trafford is in Salford, isn’t it? That’s what you’ll find Leeds fans saying. We’ve been playing against Salford for years!

Mills issued his thoughts on the tie, and is expecting it to be a tough game for Marcelo Bielsa's side on the day, especially if they are to rest players.

"Obviously it’s a massive cup draw. Being away from home is not going to be easy with the history of the Class of 92 and everybody associated with that, it’s going to make it a tricky tie.

"At this sort of stage, the so-called bigger sides often rest players and give other players an opportunity."

The Verdict:

What a tie this promises to be!

When I saw the draw in full, you're immediately drawn to this fixture, and it's going to be a closely fought battle between the two teams as they look to progress to the next round.

I think Leeds will have enough about them to win this, but Salford certainly won't make this easy for Marcelo Bielsa's side on the night.
