Michael Brown insists that it wouldn't be right if Leeds Unite or West Brom were forced to play away from their own grounds in the future.

With both sides currently on course to win automatic promotion from the Championship, there have been concerns about how fans may react when a return to the Premier League is confirmed given that everyone should be staying away from stadiums.

As a result, the Times claimed that the authorities may see Whites or Albion games as 'high-risk' and move them to a neutral venue.

Whilst nothing is confirmed on that front, Brown told Football Insider that it would be wrong to do that.

"We’ve got to try and get all these games at the correct stadiums so we’ve got that fair play aspect of it. We just know that, after all these hard times, the supporters have to understand the difficult situations. Will there be one or two that go? Hopefully now, after what everyone’s been through, they’ll stay away from stadiums and that."

There's still no concrete date set for when the league may return and the latest round of testing brought back ten positive tests across the division.

The verdict

There's no doubt that Brown is right in what he's saying, in an ideal world the clubs would play all the games at their own ground.

However, as we know, sacrifices will be made and whilst the vast majority of Leeds and Albion fans could be trusted, if the authorities feel a small percentage can't and will pose a risk, then this is a decision they will have to make.

Ultimately, it's about finishing the season safely and you can imagine both clubs will be prepared to play anywhere as long as they can finish the job and win promotion.
