Leeds United could potentially be set to make moves for both Abel Hernandez and Kyle Bartley this summer, and one former player thinks it is 'vital' that the club  look to sign players just like the pair.

These are the thoughts of former Leeds defender Ben Parker, who was speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post and offered his thoughts on the club and their potential summer transfer business.

"I think they would be great signings and a great signal of intent to the fans" said Parker.

Bartley is hotly tipped to return to Elland Road after a season away following his successful loan spell the season prior, while Hernandez has left Hull City and is strongly rumoured to favour a move acros Yorkshire to the Whites.

However, with no manager yet in place at the club, new signings are potentially being put on hold, and Leeds fans will no doubt be hoping things are sorted quickly.

Parker meanwhile, believes signing quality players will be a massive boost to the squad at Elland Road, and thinks the pair both fit the specification perfectly.

'As a player as well, if you are sat in the dressing room and you see those players’ names come into a squad, it does give everybody a lift.' he added.

Leeds finished last season in midtable having sacked Thomas Christiansen, while they also dispatched Paul Heckingbottom only a few weeks ago.
