Ex-Leeds United striker, Jermaine Beckford, has claimed that the result against Derby next weekend will be pretty similar to what it was against Barnsley on Sunday.

Beckford has claimed that Leeds will see victory when they take on the Rams just like they did against Yorkshire rivals, Barnsley, last weekend.

The Whites currently sit top of the league having won all four of their away games this season. It hasn't been as plain-sailing at home though, Marcelo Bielsa's side have picked up just four points from their opening three games at Elland Road.

Beckford feels as though they will get revenge against last year's play-off semi-finalists and be able to continue their good start to the season.

Speaking to LUTV, Beckford said: "It is [a big one against Derby], but we're Leeds United. Everybody comes here for a cup final. We have cup finals for dinner, it's what we do.

"The boss is going to look at all the little mistakes that we made, the positioning, in the middle and up top and I'm sure he will leave no stone unturned.

“I'm pretty sure the result is going to end up pretty similar to what it was [against Barnsley].”

The Verdict

It's sure to be one fantastic atmosphere when Leeds take on Derby County this Saturday. The away fans will come with a brilliant backing as usual, and I'm sure they'll be able to remind the home fans what happened last season.

Beckford is very confident, maybe a bit too confident considering how early we are in the week, and it'll be interesting to see if Derby can muster a result at Elland Road.

It is unlikely considering how the two sides have started this season, but you just never know in the Championship, and games like this tend to have more of an edge on them.
