Leeds United are in the midst of a miserable run of form, and defeat at league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday condemned the Whites to their fifth defeat in their past seven games.

Manager Thomas Christiansen is under increasing pressure to deliver an upturn in results, with his position set to be seriously called into question should his side lose to Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.

The Yorkshire derby is arguably Leeds’ biggest clash with the Tykes in recent years, and home fans will be keen to stick the knife into their struggling rivals.

Victory over Middlesbrough last weekend installed a new sense of optimism at the club, and many won’t be too disheartened by the defeat at Wolves, considering the Molineux side look set to run away with the title this season.

Former Leeds player Andy Couzens took to Twitter to have his say on the matter, claiming that ‘we win tomorrow then all is rosy again’, and urged fans to get behind the team ahead of the huge encounter.

Couzens insists there's no need to panic, and one win could mark the true turning point in their campaign.

The Verdict

Couzens raises an extremely valid point.

Defeat at Wolves was expected, but fans will certainly take six points from the three fixtures played this week should the club defeat Barnsley tomorrow.

A win would close the gap on Leeds’ playoff rivals, and Christiansen could begin to push on from there with some winnable fixtures coming up.

Victory is essential however, with the Dane seriously teetering on the edge of oblivion.

Leeds fans, is Couzens right? Would victory at Barnsley reboot your confidence in Christiansen? Have your say below...
