The pressure is seriously building on Thomas Christiansen after the defeat at Brentford last time out made it six defeats in seven league games.

Some fans are already calling for the manager to be sacked, however, he has found some support in former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn.

Speaking to Radio Yorkshire, the ex-Barnsley player was adamant that current boss should stay. “I wouldn't sack Christiansen, no way. To throw it all away just doesn't make sense. Leeds need to find a way to get back to winning ways.”

The Whites had started the season superbly and were top of the league throughout periods in September, but have fallen away drastically in recent weeks.

They are now 10th in the league and the pressure is mounting, although Christiansen will surely appreciate the support of Redfearn who still watches the team regularly.

Yet, he will be aware that it's all about the results and Leeds have a challenging few games ahead. They face Garry Monk and his resurgent Boro side next, before a difficult looking trip to Molineux a few days later.

The Verdict

Neil Redfearn is taking a sensible view over Thomas Christiansen. Leeds have openly spoken about this being a project and to sack him at the first sign of trouble would not make sense, as the ex-manager says.

However, there has to be a tipping point and it might be soon. The current run is unacceptable given the players Leeds have.

Unless there are signs of progress, which doesn't have to be results, then you can't blame Andrea Radrizzani if he made a change.
