Former Wolves and England captain Paul Ince has spoke to the Daily Mirror, and believes the club are more than capable of asserting themselves in the Premier League next season, but has warned against wholesale changes.

Ince, who was part of the Wolves side promoted to the Premier League in 2003, insists it is excellent news for the club that the owners appear willing to spend big, but he also warned against ousting the likes of Barry Douglas, Conor Coady, and John Ruddy, who have all played key roles.

Ince said 'a lot had been made' of Wolves' link with agent Jorge Mendes, but insisted the players not specifically brought in by Mendes can have an equal impact on proceedings at Molineux.

The former England midfielder cited the squad as having 'excellent balance', and thinks it is about time the club was woken up and 'achieved its full potential'.

Wolves will be expected to make a big splash in the transfer market, but Ince says he 'would be very careful' about where he spends the money if he was Wolves, and seemed adamant that the club do not need a lot in order to be able to really compete in the top flight.

Wolves fans, do you agree with Ince? Who do you think you should sign this summer? Let us know in the comments!
