Ryan Sessegnon's move to Spurs is a very exciting prospect and according to Slavisa Jokanovic he is destined for success.

The Serbian manager handed the 19-year-old his debut at Fulham in 2016 and he soon became not only a first-team regular, but a key player as Fulham won promotion to the Premier League.

Sessegnon is widely regarded as a huge prospect and much of his success and progression in the game is due to Jokanovic, who was responsible for moulding Sessegnon into a versatile left-sided player.

Speaking to The Mirror, Jokanovic said: "Ryan is really competitive, I'd highlight his focus on the game and his hard work.

"He always showed to be keen to listen to the manager and improve and you never had the feeling he was not ready for it.

"I believe he can perfectly play for Spurs and has still got a huge career ahead and room for improvement."

The former Fulham boss also believes Mauricio Pochettino is ideal for the youngster, and the Argentine is well-known for not only giving youngsters an opportunity in the first team, but developing their game and making players better.

"He is joining a team where Pochettino knows how to manage the progress of young players as well. It [Spurs] will give him the platform to show in an even bigger stage what he can do," added Jokanovic.

"In that sense, Spurs is a good choice and I expect big things from him because I know he will keep his will to improve and great attitude."

The Verdict

Tottenham is a great move for Sessegnon for several reasons, and if he displays the attitude which has served him so well thus far then he is bound to be a success for Spurs.

He will get to stay in London, play for a top-class manager and learn from some great professionals, including players like Danny Rose and Ben Davies, from whom he could learn a great deal about the left-back role.

Sessegnon has made great improvements in his game and played so many games for someone so young. He is already a composed head on young shoulders and as long as he copes with the pressure of a big-club environment then he should be a big success.
