Former Norwich City manager, Alex Neil, has told talkSPORT that he expects John Ruddy to have offers from the Premier League following his departure from Carrow Road, reports the Eastern Daily Press.

It was confirmed last week that Ruddy, 30, was among seven players to be released by Norwich at the end of the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season, ending the goalkeeper's seven-year association with the Canaries.

During his seven seasons with Norwich, Ruddy helped the Canaries achieve two promotions to the Premier League and played four of his seven campaigns at Carrow Road in the top-flight.

Neil confirmed he expects Ruddy, who has made 243 appearances for the Canaries, to be playing in the Premier League next season, he said: “I think John will be in demand.

“It won’t surprise me if John ends up in the Premier League somewhere. It is rare you get someone like John who is going to be a free transfer and I would be pretty confident he will be able to get himself sorted.”

Neil was sacked by Norwich in March, as the club’s chances of reaching the Championship’s play-offs began to fade.

Alan Irvine oversaw the remainder of the campaign, leading Norwich to an eighth-placed finish.

The Canaries are yet to appoint their next permanent manager.
