Football League pundit and former Celtic defender Adam Virgo has backed Steve Evans for the vacant job at Peterborough amid uncertainty in regards to his future at Leeds, in a tweet.
The Scotsman has led the Whites to within touching distance of the top ten after a strong finish to the season and is a popular figure amongst the club’s support.
Still, due to the erratic nature of life under controversial owner Massimo Cellino, there are doubts as to whether the former Rotherham boss will be kept on in his role.
A shock move for the relatively inexperienced Fabio Cannavaro has been mooted, who despite a glittering playing career, has little management wise on his CV.
However, former Hoops defender Virgo has backed the ex-Rotherham coach as a potential candidate for the Peterborough post following the dismissal of Graham Westley.
@PUFC_Kyle always a tough club to manage but a great one if you get it right. Steve Evans say what bout him but has had success in L1

He was sacked with Posh marooned in mid-table following a poor run of results and the club will now undertake the process of finding a new man to lead them next term.
Evans has had success in League One before, leading Rotherham to promotion while in charge at the New York Stadium.
Would Evans even consider going back to League One? Just how good would he be for Posh?
