Former Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland has delivered an unwavering attack on current club Stoke City's transfer policy, criticising certain signings and saying the 'whole process needs looking at'.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Butland - who was a goalkeeping star for the Blues a few seasons back - did not hold back as he slated the Potters for some of their transfer business and called on things to be sorted out over the summer.

“I think the whole recruitment process needs looking at to be honest. We’ve gone into a game — and over the last few months — with half the squad dotted around the world not even involved. Some are on loans, rightly so, you’re allowed to go out on loan — things you can’t knock." Butland added.

The England goalkeeper was clearly talking about players such as Kevin Wimmer and Saido Berahino - a striker who has failed to scored for the club and has been banished from the squad at times by manager Mark Hughes.

Butland did go on to add that he hadn't thought about his future yet, although the young keeper is widely expected to move on in the summer, with a whole host of Premier League clubs interested in his services.

Butland also backed manager Hughes, insisting he is the 'right man for the job' after what inheriting what Butland described as an 'ill disciplined squad'.
