Former Aston Villa favourite Dion Dublin believes that Steve Bruce will be the difference tomorrow as Villa look to overcome Fulham to secure a place in the Premier League.

The West Midlands side finished one place behind the Cottagers in the regular season but Dublin reckons Bruce can set Villa up to get the victory at Wembley.

"If he [Steve Bruce] sets them up right, you know you set traps and it could work if they all do it together. I just think Bruce will get it right," the Express & Star reveal he told TalkSPORT.

Dublin, who played over 150 games for Villa, praised the balance that Bruce has in his squad.

"I think he's got a few captains on the pitch, he's got a great balance of seniors and kids and legs and goals."

Should they defeat Fulham tomorrow and return to the top-flight, the former Manchester United man added that it would mean Villa are back to where he feels they belong.

"This is Aston Villa. They're a big club, [and have a] massive following. Should I say the stature of the club deserves to be in the Premier League."

The Verdict

The league table doesn't lie and over the course of a season Fulham were better than Villa, however it will count for nothing tomorrow.

As Dublin says, it's a one-off and it's all about who performs better on the day and Bruce is sure to have a plan to stifle the Cottagers, just as he did with Adama Traore and Middlesbrough.

Then, it's down to the players to execute that and ultimately get the win which is what it's all about.
