Former Arsenal players urge club to move for Brentford star

A group of former Arsenal players have encouraged the club to take a closer look at Brentford winger Said Benrahma.

France football reported the news as they revealed that the group told the Gunners board that Benrahma would be worth looking at in the summer transfer window.

The fleet-footed winger has been one of the top performers in the Championship this season as he has found the net ten times and laid on six assists in the league.

His form during the first half of the season for the Bees attracted interest from Aston Villa and Leicester City during the January transfer window but neither club made a move for the 24-year-old.

The Algerian signed for the club in the summer of 2018 and had a promising first season in English football with ten goals in 38 Championship appearances.

He has been made a crucial piece in the front three at Griffin Park alongside striker Ollie Watkins and right winger Bryan Mbeumo.

Benrahma has played a big role within the Bees side as he has helped Thomas Frank’s side up to fourth in the table with the automatic promotion spots six points away.

The Verdict

Benrahma could be a good signing for Arsenal as he would link up well with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe in a front three at The Emirates.

The winger is set for the Premier League next season whether it is with Brentford or with a side already in the top flight and Benrahma will more than likely be the subject of bids come the summer.
